Don't join Liberty Healthshare

They just don't want to pay. I have had very little expenses, mainly preventative things like wellness exams, colonoscopy, mammogram, etc. It's a nightmare getting reimbursed and every time I call, I get a different explanation on why it's not being paid. 30-45 business days each time you want something looked at is rediculous! I have 3 different bills right now that they said I have an aua (annual unshared amount) which I paid to the provider which now I find out was wrong since they were covered under the wellness coverage. They owe me money now and I doubt I will ever see it. I am in collections for the first time in my life of excellent credit because I was told by one representative that is what they do. They said "don't worry if it goes into collections because we will pay it right away then". Wrong! Almost 3 months in collections and it is still not paid. I would never ever recommend them to anyone! Medicare can't come soon enough for me!

PLEASE PLEASE Make sure you contact the Ohio Attorney General and file a complaint. They govern over this type of entity.

Liberty still has these same issues today 4/1/19.

It is vital everyone files a complaint so this sort of thing is stopped. You can also go to ohioattorneygeneral.gov or call 866-406-**** The same thing is happening today to us 4/1/19

Run around

I have not used Liberty for 3 years and then had over $7000.00 in medical bills 4 months later they have sent $300.00. I have called and called and sent and sent all the info and more but they just talk nice but never pay..its a scam.

Take your money out of your account with no explanation or reason for a different amount on a continual basis.

This is NOT a medical plan. Therefor they do not follow the same rules as healthcare cos. I did not re enroll during the “real” healthcare open enrollment (as I assumed was standard) period yet they took out 2x the amount I signed up for anyway. No explanation. Now I’m paying for dbl coverage. I never even used their service. Do. It let them have access to your account, they will take and take and take whatever they want.

PAGE IS VERY RUDE TO THE PROVIDERS WHEN THEY CALL. I AM FLABERGASTED AT THE WAY THIS LITTLE GIRL ACTS AND THE WAY SHE 'THINKS' SHE CAN TALK TO PROVIDERS. SHE REPRESENTS THEM POORLY AND THE MANAGERS IM SURE DO NOT CARE. I HOPE THEY SEE THIS AS I AM NOT DONE WITH YOU YET PAGE. HOPEFULLY YOU WILL BE FIRED, IF I CAN HELP IT.

Lousy company!

I had this junk for 2 years with no major claims. had to have emergency gall bladder surgery in September. they paid out less than $4,000 and stuck me with over $20.000 in medical bills. they DO NOT negotiate at all with providers. I don't know how they sleep at night. run away from this *** company as fast as you can. when I called to cancel this lousy coverage they didn't even ask why. all they said was they had paid out the "maximum allowed". when I signed up for this originally I was told they would really be in my corner and negotiate for me. LIES LIES LIES. spend your hard earned elsewhere

FIND ANOTHER MEDICAL OPTION

We paid our premium monthly, submitted the paper work as required. Liberty Health Share only paid a fraction of the bill and then told us that they are in “negotiations” with the HealthCare provider to “lower” the actual cost. Meanwhile the healthcare provider continues to send you the bill because they have no idea that Liberty Health Share is “negotiations” and you get sent to the collectors! We were told that negotiations can take up to 30 days, but it has been 10 months! Our medical bills are well below the cap that LHS provides for.

Am in your shoes right now, said they were in negotiations with the hospital, oops they forgot to tell the hospital! I am now paying the hospital because I will not ruin my credit because they are liars! The hospital gave me a 20% because I have set up a payment plan, better than Liberty's negotiations!!

However, the processing of billing and reimbursement is a joke! I submitted two bills in October of last year and when I called in to check the status of them I was told that they are being processed and the process would take 30-45 days. I called back the end of December and informed them that I received a letter from the hospital stating my credit will be affected if the payment isn't made. I was told that I could make the payment to the hospital and I would be reimbursed.

I called Liberty HealthShare again two months later and asked them when will I be reimbursed for the payments that I made to the hospital. I was told that no one knows when I will receive a reimbursement check. They said that the bills were processed, but I have to have to wait to see if a member will pay the bills that I have submitted. I then asked if I could expect a reimbursement check in 4- 7 months and they said they were not sure.

The reimbursement check I am expecting is around $1,000.00. I have paid my monthly payments on time and submitted my bills correctly and stated to Liberty Healthshare that this is not fair to the members.

I signed up for LH because I wanted to deal with a christian company. Did not need them for over two years and then when I did I had missed a change on my card.

They cancelled the insurance a couple weeks later after I found it and needed their help to fight cancer they do to accounting on part my I don't care. On ward christian bro.

HORRIBLE BILLING SERVICE AND LYING CUSTOMER SERVICE

THEY OWE ME REIMBURSEMENTS FOR JULY AND AUGUST. I HAVE BEEN WAITING 2 1/2 MONTHS FOR JULY AND STILL NO CHECK. CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GET MORE LIES. TERMINATED WITH THEM AUGUST 31st. THANK GOODNESS FOR MEDICARE NOW! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. IT'S JUST TOO STRESSFUL. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS WITH THE DOCTORS OR LABS BUT IT'S THE HEADACHE OF DEALING WITH THE BILLING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS. THEY SEND YOU AN EMAIL THAT YOUR BILL HAS BEEN PROCESSED BUT THEN YOU WAIT FOREVER TO GET YOUR CHECK. WHY IS THAT?????? DOING THIS SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY RECOURSE AND THAT TO ME IS VERY UNFORTUNATE.

Very disappointed in this company Customer service with any company is everything. My experience has found them to be very disorganized and have very poor customer service and follow-up There are much better companies out there for you to consider

Can not believe they are still in business!

More than anything, I feel like an idiot. I am an intelligent person who is typically capable of making smart decisions. Then, I decided to sign my family up for this poor excuse for health coverage. To make a long drawn out nightmare short, RUN. They will lure you in with good rates, promises, and in the end as soon as you submit a bill that's higher than about fifty bucks, they will stall. They will throw out every excuse on the earth to not pay that bill. It's coded wrong? They need chart notes from the hospital or doctor? What? In the end, if something is labeled as approved, they will take literally over six or seven months to pay after it's approved. It's bait and switch and it's a nightmare. And as so many others have learned, they refuse to pay your bills and keep them swirling in a limbo status. This keeps you scared to cancel. If you cancel, they pay ZERO. It's a total win for them. They will tell you on the phone that there is absolutely no limit to how long it will take. There is no line in the sand on their timing to pay. They have zero legal liability to pay. You have no recourse. They will just come right out and tell you. Here's an example. See the bill for my daughter, below. Service in Jan. It was approved after they chopped off 65% of the charges, (you have to pay the rest). Created the file in April. To this day, not paid. Collections have sent it to my credit file. I have spent about five hours on the phone with LHS. If they ever do pay it, the funny thing is, I've already paid it off. So, you can allow your credit to be destroyed, or pay out of pocket gambling on getting your money back. Getting reimbursed, as a patient who has already paid? That's too funny really to even consider. Liberty Healthshare consistently underpays the medical bills. They tell you that they will negotiate it down, but this rarely happens.

It almost never gets resolved until you call them several times and threaten to sue them.

Once you inform them of upcoming litigation, they take action and pay the bills. Its unfortunate that this is the way they do business.

Do NOT JOIN LIBERTY HEALTHSHARE!

The list of complaints is too long to detail here but my warning is, unless you love being turned over to collections by health care providers, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM! They do not pay. They reduce the bill if they do pay but for the most part all you hear is THE CHECK IS IN THE MAIL....and it never is! That's a real Christian level of integrity for you! Disgusting!

I called to cancel service i will have to wait til my husband's insurance kicks in.But I needed a eye exam and no one on the list that was provided wanted to see me.I was paying 323.00 for services that i am having problems with I want to cancel and money refunded.

So Frustrating!

This has been so frustrating! Health insurance got way to expensive for my husband and I because we are self-employed. So we heard about Liberty. We decided to go with it and for the first year it was ok. Now hospitals and Dr offices will no longer submit bills for you so we are left to do it. I have submitted many and have only seen one small reimbursement check. Over the last year we have had a run of bad luck with 3 ER visits that resulted in a surgery for me, and many small sick visits for my husband and kids. As a result we are now in collections with several healthcare providers because Liberty is not taking care of getting them or us our money. We had perfect credit before we started with Liberty and now it is going in the toilet! We don't know what to do! When you call the customer service line the people are rude and treat you like you are stupid. Yes we are paying an affordable premium, but at what cost? Amidst all of this my husband has changed jobs and took quite a pay cut, we are currently looking in to switching to something else. We just don't know what to do.
