Enough is Enough

They are right on schedule to take my premium out of my bank account, but months and months delay on paying my claims. I call every three weeks or so and it is the same story, they switched to a new system, claims got processed wrong, they are working as fast as they can to reprocess them correctly, call back in three weeks. I'm losing confidence fast, especially, reading that other people are having the same issues. I most likely will start looking for another alternative, this one is too much work and I am starting to worry this may be sometime of scheme. So sad as they present themselves as a Christian organization, but do not represent themselves as such. :(

Don't Count On Them

The good news: 1. I am and have been a member for over 2 years and was reimbursed for everything their plan says they would reimburse for in 2017. 2. 95% of the time, I negotiate advance cash payment discounts. 3. I take pretty good care of myself and have minimal need for main-stream medical care (none in the 5 years preceding my membership, and none in 2018). The bad news: 1. As a member, I have [nearly] always paid practitioners from my own pocket at time of treatment. The LHS "fast" reimbursements took over 3 months, and some took over 6 months. 2. I spent MANY dozens, if not hundreds, of hours (more time than the long distance travel and the few treatment consumed) jumping through hoops (calling, writing them letters, getting my doctors to write letters, etc.) that were placed as non-payment obstacles, each time I cleared the prior one. 3. They generally do not respond to phone messages left, emails, or letters, and don't normally honor follow-up commitments made. 4. Notifications of guideline changes are not provided in advance of their effective date. 5. As an unemployed person, under 65, I have few options for medical cost support, so I'm stuck.

Scam as a company for health insurance.

For 16 months I have been trying to collect reimbursement for medical bills. Not a dollar. Lost receipts,lost forms. Check is in the mail. Now legal fees as I intend to sue. Big,big scam. Not an insurance company so no regulations from State of Ohio.

They don't do anything!

This company is a scam, they haven't shared into one of my maternity bills thus far. I'm about to go into labor and they have not sent me a check for my hospital estimate as they mentioned. We have already paid so much out of pocket and we don't have the money to pay for the hospital's portion. I can't get a hold of anyone, they bounce us around with no answers. I have so many pending bills that haven't been reimbursed and some are going to collections. They don't care and just keep taking people's money. I don't need this kind of stress while I'm pregnant and shame on them for calling themselves a Christian company!!!!

For the Vast Majority of People- This seems to be a scam!

Other than Holly and her husband, whose family clearly benefits financially from this service, as much as they try to dart around and imply that they don't, Liberty Healthshare seems to be a hopeful system that does not work, AT BEST. It worst it is a complete scam that we will be reading about some day like when all the business Ponzi schemes broke during the Madoff era. We have been trying to be paid on items for over a year with some, and longer with others. They are all labeled as valid expenses in their system, but when we ask approximately when they will be paid there is never a timeframe. I'm sure Holly's family gets their bills paid quickly because she is one of the few out here spreading the good word about Liberty and getting them 6 or 7 new clients a month. Her blogging about it helps mitigate the thousands of negative comments on Liberty Healthshare we have seen all over the web. It would make sense that Liberty would make sure her personal experience with their system is positive. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS HEALTHSHARE! Even though it feels that the monthly premium is cheap, relative to traditional health insurance, for the vast majority of the people we have found on this service, there seems to be literally no benefits and just simple frustration. Like many of the hundreds threatening we will go back to traditional medical insurance as well. It's more expensive, and there are wait times, but there is a system in place that has a regulated protocol.

Are you saying if you start publicly complaining, they don't pay or take an extra long amount of time to pay? I sure hope that's not true, as I've complained to the Better Business Bureau, on Facebook and now here.

My story is the same as everyone else’s. Can anyone tell me how to cancel my membership with them? Their website doesn’t tell you how and wait time on the phone is about a hour.

HORRIBLE

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET A SUPPEMENTAL CLAIM PAID FOR A PATIENT FROM A DATE OF SERVICE OF 8/29/2018. I NEVER RECEIVED PAYMENT, SO I CALLED LHS ON 2/5/19, THEY STATED THEY DON'T HAVE THE CLAIM. I CHECKED WITH MY ELECTRONIC PAYER WHO STATES THEY SHOW THE CLAIM WAS SENT SUCCESSFULLY. SINCE LHS DIDN'T HAVE CLAIM, I FAXED THE CLAIM AND THE MEDICARE EXPLANATION OF BENEFITS TO ATTENTION BILLS TO THE FAX NUMBER GIVEN TO ME. I STILL DIDN'T RECEIVE PAYMENT. I CALLED LHS BACK ON 2/26/19, STILL NO CLAIM ON FILE. I WAS TOLD TO FAX AGAIN THE INFORMATION TO A DIFFERENT NUMBER TO ATTENTION STEFANIE. STILL NO PAYMENT, CALLED BACK AGAIN ON 3/13/19 AND WAS ON HOLD FOR AN HOUR. NO ONE EVER PICKED UP SO I AGAIN FAXED TO ATTENTION STEFANIE. FAXED AGAIN ON 3/26/19 TO ATTENTION STEFANIE WITH A COVER SHEET ASKING WHERE IS THE PAYMENT? CALLED LHS AGAIN ON 4/3/19 AND A. MOORE STATES STILL NO CLAIM FOUND. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? A. MOORE TOLD ME TO SEND THE INFORMATION AGAIN TO SECURE EMAIL WHICH WAS DONE ON 4/3/19. I SENT AN ADDITIONAL EMAIL ASKING IF SHE RECEIVED IT AND SHE STATED SHE DID. GUESS WHAT? I CALLED AGAIN TODAY 5/2/19 AND WAS HOLD A HALF AN HOUR. FINALLY WHEN THE REPRESENTATIVE PICKED UP AND I BEGUN TO SPEAK, DISCONNECTED??? AND GUESS WHAT, STILL NO PAYMENT. SENDING A STATEMENT TO THE PATIENT, HE CAN DEAL WITH THEM. I'M DONE!!!!!!

Liberty now owes me more than $4000 for claims I have submitted since May 2018. I call every month, get the run-around.

Thank god I just turned 65 and went on Medicare, so I cancelled my membership, but I will not rave about this company anymore. I think they grew too fast and can’t keep up with the demand for affordable healthcare.

But I just want answers! No one seems to be able to help me!

Resolved: Medical Bills

I have been with Liberty going on my 3rd year. It's a great plan if you are healthy and have no claims. Had one claim 5 months ago that was above my deductible. It was for an ER visit. I have called 5 times because providers have started calling me. Every time I call liberty the people are nice but I don't believe them anymore. They tell me oh yes we are going to take care of it and guess what just checked they haven't. They really are great at taking your premium on time though!!!!

Make sure you contact the Ohio Attorney General and file a complaint. They govern over this type of entity.

Liberty still has these same issues today 4/1/19.

It is vital everyone files a complaint so this sort of thing is stopped. You can also go to ohioattorneygeneral.gov or google for their phone.

TERRIBLE COMPANY

I had LHS for approx. 3 years. The first couple of years I guess I didn't use a lot of the services but didn't seem to have any problems and thought they were pretty good. Then I have a problem with a payment being mailed to the wrong address. The check was cancelled by liberty I have tried for year to get a check reissued to the provider. I have been lied to and given the run around. No one seems to know what the other person is doing and no one can get anything done. Very dissatisfied with their service! If you are reading this review and questioning whether or not to use liberty health share, do yourself a favor and don't! You will regret it in the future!!!!!
